News Title: Hemingway Landing is a new home community coming soon to Conway, conveniently located slightly west of downtown Conway, close to Highway 701.
Hemingway Landing is a new home community coming soon to Conway. Hemingway Landing is conveniently located slightly west of downtown Conway, close to Highway 701. This new subdivision in Conway is located at the intersection of Hemingway Chapel Road and Rasberry Lane, across from the New Castle subdivision and adjacent to the Oak Glenn and Rosehaven subdivisions.

On May 5, 2025, Conway City Council approved the change of the name of the subdivision from Hemingway Chapel Landing to Hemingway Landing.

D. R. Horton is the builder in Hemingway Landing. D. R. Horton has been the largest homebuilder by volume in the US for several years and is very active in the Myrtle Beach area, with over 30 ongoing development projects in the area.  Hemingway Landing will be a conservation subdivision. With a conservation subdivision design, open space will need to be preserved, with a minimum of 30% of the net buildable area of the property needing to be left undeveloped and used for both conservation of the natural environment and human recreation.

The Conservation Subdivision design standards for Hemingway Landing requires that lots be a minimum of: 6,000 sq. ft. in size, while providing a minimum width of: 60-ft and a minimum depth of: 100-ft. The current plan from D. R. Horton for Hemingway Landing is proposing a total of 77-lots, with 63 of such lots (81%) either abutting or directly across the street from conservation area, which exceeds the minimum 75% required in the conservation subdivision standards. The Hemingway Landing project proposes to provide: 24-acres of conservation area, which include 4.60-acres of perimeter buffers (100-ft in width along roadways and 50-ft in width along project boundaries), 15.88-acres of wetlands, and 3.51-acres of buffers around all wetlands on-site. The site contains: 12.09-acres of net buildable area and the applicant proposes to dedicate: 3.16-acres of upland recreational open space and 2.79-acres of pond area (totaling: 5.95-acres) to satisfy the 30% of net buildable area (3.63-acres) required to be provided as open space in conservation subdivision standards. This is in addition to the 24-acres conservation area being preserved, leaving the total amount of Open Space provided: 29.95-acres. The Hemingway Landing project proposes 3 external points of ingress-egress, all off Hemingway Chapel Road.

D. R. Horton has not yet announced specific plans, timing and pricing for the new home community of Hemingway Landing.
