Dove Crossing is conveniently located on the outskirts of Conway. Locals may refer to this section of Conway as "Canon Hill". Dove Crossing is located on the southwest side of Conway close to Cates Bay Highway. Harvest Ridge and Northwood are a couple of the subdivisions that are close to where Dove Crossing will be developed. Dove Crossing will be developed just south of Big Cypress Lake, a nice local retreat for picnicking and fishing.
There are technically two parcels of land straddling Browns Way Shortcut Road that were once owned by VBCB Holdings and approved by Horry County for the development of 337 single family homes. The parcel on the north side of Browns Way Shortcut Road is now owned by D. R. Horton. With this parcel, D. R. Horton is building 166 single family homes in their new home community of Dove Crossing.
This is being considered the first phase of Dove Crossing. It is anticipated that D. R. Horton will be purchasing the second parcel of approximately 75.22 acres on the south side of Browns Way Shortcut Road for subsequent phases of Dove Crossing.
The single-family homes in the first phase of Dove Crossing first started to close at the end of June 2025. Homes in Dove Crossing have sold from $270,000 to $313,00. As of October 2025, D. R. Horton is pricing the new single-family homes in Dove Crossing starting from $260,490.
